Fullerton Loop Trail Bridge

Project Name: Fullerton Loop Trail bridge
Location: Kananaskis Country, AB
Description: Installation of a new trail bridge at approx. km 2.0 on the Fullerton Loop Trail

Roseke Engineering Ltd designed this trail bridge on the Fullerton Loop Trail in the Kananaskis Country, Elbow River District west of Bragg Creek, AB.  The bridge is a steel girder design with a steel subdeck and timber deck on two layers of precast concrete lock blocks.

Since the site was approximately 2 km into the backcountry, it was designed to be transported to the site in pieces.  Each steel member was brought to the site with using quads and trailers, and the bridge was bolted together on site without any welding.

Furthermore, the bridge is 3.7 m wide (clear deck width) which accommodates heavy equipment so that the rest of the trail system (past that point) can be accessed with maintenance equipment.

Alberta Environment & Parks has received an excellent bridge link on their system.
